Synopsis

Set in Paris in the late 19th century, Vanitas is not only an ordinary man working as a doctor specialising in vampires, but he is also in possession of a special book, the “Book of Vanitas”, which was once bequeathed to him. With the help of this book, he pursues one goal above all: to save the vampires. The book also gives him the power he needs to do this. Vampires who are cursed and become bloodthirsty monsters as so-called “curse bearers” can be tamed and healed with the Book of Vanitas. But that is not all: the Book of Vanitas is said to be a cursed book, bringing disaster upon the vampires. Because his teacher once told him about the book and asked him to get to the bottom of its secret, the vampire Noé Archiviste travels to Paris to look for the said book and accidentally meets Vanitas.
