Synopsis

Although the student Urano Motosu is already 22 years old, she does not behave as one would expect of adults. She doesn’t just love books but adores them and is usually so engrossed in them that she hardly notices anything about her surroundings. One can be glad when her environment saves her from being run over by a truck, for example. Her studies are coming to an end, and she has only recently landed a job as a librarian. However, Urano can’t enjoy it for long because, one day, during an earthquake, when she is reading again as she always does, she notices the falling mass of books too late – and is sent to the afterlife by her beloved objects. One can argue whether it is good or bad luck, but Urano is reborn in the body of the five-year-old girl Myne. However, she has to come to terms with some hard facts: the poor and dirty lifestyle of her new family is more reminiscent of the Middle Ages, with no trace of luxury and modern achievements; the now so-young bookworm also has her problems with the other language. Henceforth, Myne has to deal with new living conditions and soon realises that books are a rare and, above all, expensive commodity in this world. Therefore, she decides: if she can’t get her hands on existing books, she will make her own!
