Synopsis

Gen Narumi, commander of the First Unit, is known for being decidedly eccentric: instead of training, he disappears into video games, regularly skips the commanders’ meetings, and obsesses over his current position in the trending rankings – and whether he has finally managed to overtake Mina Ashiro. It is hardly surprising that the squad leaders gossip about him behind his back, while he – rather ironically – listens in secretly because he has once again missed a meeting. Despite all these shortcomings, no one in the unit wishes to be without him. Narumi’s combat prowess is undeniable, and his colleagues value his loyalty, his humour, and the way he manages to lift everyone’s spirits even in the most chaotic moments.
